Veteran
forward Justin Tetrault has been traded to the Southeast
Blades for defenseman Lyle McKay.
Tetrault
played 2 games for the Blizzard this year picking up one
assist while McKay played 12 games for the Blades picking
up 2 goals and 3 assists.
Tetrault
hasnt seen any ice time since September 20th against the
Swan Valley Stampeders due to an appeal made by the BCHL's
Nanaimo Clippers over whether the Blizzard or the Clippers
own his CHA playing rights. Tetrault was traded to Nanaimo
in the 2002 offseason but ended up joining the USHL's
Tri-City Storm the same weekend he reported to Nanaimo.
Tetrault was released by the Storm this summer and returned
to Canada. The card which Tetrault signed with the Clippers
was apparently never registered after he left for Tri-City
so it was ruled that he was still Blizzard property since
they were the last CJAHL team to register a signed card.
Should
Tetrault's rights be awarded to Nanaimo the Blizzard will
give the Blades some other form of compensation.
