As part
of building a solid Junior hockey program, we feel that Education
and Hockey is a winning combination. Our players are asked
and supported to finish their Grade 12 if not already completed
by the time they make the hockey club. If they have an opportunity,
they will be required to be going to school at R.D. Parker Collegiate
in Thompson. However, if a player is finished his high school
then he will have an opportunity to go to college or take University
courses at the Keewatin Community College in Thompson. Our practices
are after school so players have the opportunity to work and
go to school.
Since the
team may leave during a school day prior to the weekend, players
will be asked to take their homework on the road so they can
catch up. We feel a players educational path is important
so the team is in total support of each players dream
on receiving a scholarship or making pro.
