The Nelson
House Flames lost their only game on Friday at the Keystone
Cup Western Canadian Junior "B" Hockey Championships
in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan.
For the second straight game, the Flames failed to generate
offense as they were downed 4-0 by the previously winless Saskatoon
Chiefs of the North-Saskatchewan Junior "B" Hockey
League. Unfortunately, game detail from the tournament centre
was unavailable.
Meanwhile, the host Assiniboia Southern Rebels ran into a hot
goaltender in settling for a 2-2 tie with the Sicamous Eagles.
Scott Bowles kicked out 39 Rebel Shots to secure the tie; although
it was Tyler Selk that was named the game's Most Valuable Player.
Selk had one of the two Rebel goals.
In other games, Jeff Knapp made 47-saves as Aguasabon managed
a 4-4 tie with Spruce Grove despite being outshot 51-17.
The Regals later in the day topped the Eagles by a 5-3 score.
That improves their record to 3-0-and-1. The Eagles fall to
1-1-and-1.
The late game featured the host Rebels and the River Rats; but
no score was available.
The last updated standings available are as follows:
