Pontiacs Acquire Webber
In an effort to add more size and another physical presence on the backend, the Bonnyville Pontiacs have acquired 18 year old defenceman Sam Webber in a 3 team transaction.

Webber, 6'3", 220lbs, played all of last season with the Lloydminster Blazers was dealt to the Pontiacs via the Brooks Bandits. In exchange, the Pontiacs parted company with 19 year old left winger Theyab Haimour and 18 year old defenceman Brad Sinclair.

Webber will join the Pontiacs on Tuesday, and will be in the lineup this weekend on the team's southern road swing starting on Friday November 28th vs. the Calgary Canucks.

Gillespie accepts scholarship to Boston University
The Bonnyville Pontiacs Jr A Hockey Club are proud to announce that goaltender Karson Gillespie has accepted a full NCAA Division 1 Scholarship to Boston University.

Karson is in his 2nd season with the Pontiacs, and is among the league leaders in all goaltending statistical categories. Originally from Mankota, SK, Karson played his 1st season of Jr. A in the MJHL with the Neepawa Natives.

Karson will join a team that currently has 14 NHL draft picks, and is coached by the legendary Jack Parker, the winningiest active Division 1 coach, who has taken his team to 18 NCAA tournament appearances. This is undoubtedly an outstanding opportunity for Karson.

He joins Mark Hinz (Mankota State) as Bonnyville's 2nd scholarship this season. Everyone associated with the Pontiacs organization would like to extend their best wishes to Karson.

The Bonnyville Pontiacs are hosting the Brooks Bandits this Friday Novemer 14 at 7:30pm. The Royal Bank Toonie Toss will be taking place this game in conjunction with Minor Hockey Week. Cleaver Traded To Salmon Arm
The Bonnyville Jr A Pontiacs have traded the playing rights of Rick Cleaver (83) to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCJHL for future considerations. The 6'0", 180 pound winger had 3 goals and 4 assists in 20 games for the Jr A Pontiacs this season.

Pontiacs Acquire Atlanta Thrasher Draft Pick Suderman
The Bonnyville Pontiacs have acquired the CHA playing rights of 20-year old Matt Suderman from the Winkler Flyers of the MJHL. The 6'03", 225 pound blueliner has spent the past 3 seasons with the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL and was a 7th round pick of the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2001 entry draft. In 3 seasons with the Blades, Matt played 186 games accumalating 23 points and 356 penalty minutes.

Suderman started this season with both the WHL's Everett Silvertips and the Memphis RiverKings of the Central Hockey League. Suderman will be a welcomed addition to the Pontiac blueline and is expected to report on Saturday.

In exchange the Pontiacs have sent the Winkler Flyers forward Joel Olszowka (83), defenceman John Ross (85), defenceman Mike Herauf (84) and future considerations.

Pontiacs Acquire Richardson and Stewart
The Bonnyville Pontiacs have acquired 19 year old forward Chad Richardson and 18 year old defenceman TJ Stewart from the Alberni Bulldogs of the BCJHL. Richardson scored 31 goals last year while Stewart is entering his 3rd Season of Jr. A Hockey.

In exchange the Pontiacs have sent 18 year old forward Evan Boire to Alberni

Riley and Rodgers Traded
The Bonnyville Pontiacs have traded the rights of Ryan Riley(83) to the Olds Grizzlies and Matt Rogers(84) to the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL. Both deals were for future considerations.

Pontiacs Trade 2 Players to the MJHL
Brandon Heck (84) and JJ McGrath (84) were both dealt on Tuesday to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Heck was dealt to the Winkler Flyers while McGrath was sent to the Wayway Wolverines.

Minnesota State-Mankoto signs Hinz
The Bonnyville Pontiacs Jr. A Hockey Club are very pleased to anounce that team Captain Mark Hinz has accepted a full scholarship to attend Minnesota State-Mankato. An '84 born defenceman from Waldheim, SK., Mark was named to the AJHL All-Rookie team last season, and was the Pontiacs Rookie of the Year award winner. Currently this season, the 5'11 180 pounder has 1 goal and 4 assists and is a +6 after 6 games.

He follows former Bonnyville Pontiac Grant Stevenson, who was a NCAA Hobey Baker finalist and has recently signed with the NHL's San Jose Sharks to Mankato.

Pontiacs trade Gulbraa to North Battleford
The Bonnyville Pontiacs have traded 18 yr old forward Jesse Gulbraa to the North Battleford North Stars of the SJHL in exchange for 19 yr old defenceman Mike Hereauf. Mike played for both the Humboldt Broncos and Stars last season, and is considered a tough, gritty, stay at home D-man.

2003-04 Schedule Released
The 2003-04 schedule for the Bonnyville Pontiacs has been released. The Pontiacs will play their first game on August 27th against Lloyminster in an exhibition game and will start the regular season at home on September 5th against the Blazers.
